Advantages of Horizontal Over Vertical Mixers

WHICH IS THE MIXER FOR YOU...

Horizontal or Vertical?

Vertical Mixer

Consists of a tank with its contents recirculated through an upright auger. Actual agitation occurs only in auger which occupies less than one-tenth of the space in a typical 1-ton upright. Can not effectively handle liquid molasses or roughage. Operational efficiency also suffers due to the excessive amount of time required for mixing and unloading when compared with a horizontal mixer. Furthermore, thorough clean out is not achieved.

Horizontal Mixer

Circulates all of the load all of the time. The Davis agitator lifts and tumbles the entire batch up to 25 times per minute. Materials are continually circulated from end to end of the mixer's tank as well as top to bottom. Our horizontal mixer has both the room and strength to handle many types of material, dry or liquid. Precision mixing is accomplished in  far less time, rate of discharge is much faster and clean out is thorough.
