For mixing materials weighing up to 150lbs. per cubic foot.

Standard Duty

Heavy Duty

Super Duty

Ultimate Duty

Maximum Duty

Designed and  built for ingredients weighing up to 35 pounds per cubic foot and operations that do not run their mixers over 4 hours per day.

Designed and  built for ingredients weighing 35 to 50 pounds per cubic foot and up to 8 hours per day operation.

Designed and  built for ingredients weighing 50 to 70 pounds per cubic foot and up to 8 hours per day operation.

Designed and  built for ingredients weighing 70 to 100 pounds per cubic foot and up to 8 hours per day operation.

Designed and  built for ingredients weighing 100 to 150 pounds per cubic foot and up to 8 hours per day operation.

NOTE:  To determine the actual weight per cubic foot of any product, simply weigh one gallon and multiply the weight by 7.5.

The level of construction is determined by three factors, the product's bulk density, the hours of operation, and the product's flowability.

For operating times exceeding eight hours, we offer foot mount speed reducers and shaft mounted speed reducers for up to 24 hours per day operation.  Consult factory for specific details.  Also see our page titled simplified drives for more information.

Free flowing products are typically dry granules, powders or pellets.  For products that do not flow freely, such as wet or fibrous materials, we generally recommend the next level of construction higher than the product's bulk density requires.   Please consult factory for more specifics.

Standard Duty
Our Standard Duty Models are designed to mix ingredients which do not exceed an average weight of 35 pounds per cubic foot. This can include bird seed, charcoal, coffee, tea, and many plastic resin (polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene) pellets. Certain ingredients may exceed 35 pounds, but as long as the total batch doesn't, and the mixer is not operated in excess of four hours per day, our Standard Duty Construction will provide many years of operation.

Heavy Duty
For mixing ingredients that average 35-50 pounds per cubic foot, or operations that run their mixer 4 to 8 hours per day, our Heavy Duty model is required. As the weight per cubic foot of the items you mix increases, the mixer's capacity is increased accordingly. To compensate for this added capacity we use thicker steel in the mixer's tank, plus larger shafts, sprockets, chains, bearings, etc. Ingredients which generally require this heavier construction include, but are not limited to; cornmeal, light detergents, flours, rice, and minerals that do not exceed  50 pounds per cubic foot.

Super Duty
Our Super Duty Mixers are built considerably heavier in order to accommodate ingredients which weigh 51 to 70 pounds per cubic foot. Products in this category include; many types of mineral mixes (bath salts, foot salts, talc based mixes, etc.), fertilizer, detergents, as well as sweeping and cleaning compounds.  See note above for extending hours of operation beyond 8 hours per day.

Ultimate Duty
Materials weighing 71 to 100 pounds per cubic foot our Ultimate Duty Construction. Items in this range are; drywall products, caulking, grouting, plaster, foundry sand, joint cement, cement powder.  See note above for extending hours of operation beyond 8 hours per day.

Maximum Duty
Ingredients averaging 100 to 150 pounds per cubic foot require Maximum Duty construction.   Products mixed in the Maximum Duty range include certain clays and sand, some metal ores, cement mixed with soil for stabilization purposes, and many of the Ultimate Duty mixes in wet form.   See note above for extending hours of operation beyond 8 hours per day.
