Designed and built for ingredients weighing up to 35 pounds
per cubic foot and operations that do not run their mixers over 4 hours per day. |
Designed and built for ingredients weighing 35 to 50 pounds
per cubic foot and 4 to 8 hours per day operation. |
Designed and built for ingredients weighing 50 to 70 pounds
per cubic foot. For 8 to 12 hours per day operation foot mounted speed reducer is
required. |
NOTE: To
determine the actual weight per cubic foot of any product, simply weigh one gallon and
multiply the weight by 7.5.
The level of construction is determined by three
factors, the product's bulk density, the hours of operation, and the product's
flowability.
For operating times exceeding eight hours, we offer
foot mount speed reducers and shaft mounted speed reducers for up to 24 hours per day
operation. Consult factory for specific details. Also see our page titled simplified drives for more
information.
Free flowing products are typically dry granules,
powders or pellets. For products that do not flow freely, such as wet or fibrous
materials, we generally recommend the next level of construction higher than the product's
bulk density requires. Please consult factory for more specifics.
Standard Duty
Our Standard Duty Models are designed to mix
ingredients which do not exceed an average weight of 35 pounds per cubic foot. This
includes feeding rations for cattle, dairy, hogs, chickens, turkeys and horses, as well as
other items which do not exceed an average weight of 35 pounds or up to 10% fat or liquid
molasses. Certain ingredients may exceed 35 pounds, but as long as the total batch
doesn't, and the mixer is not operated in excess of four hours per day, our Standard Duty
Construction will provide many years of operation.
Heavy Duty
For mixing ingredients that average
35-50 pounds per cubic foot, 11 to 20% fat or liquid molasses, or operations that run
their mixer 4 to 8 hours per day, our Heavy Duty model is required. As the weight per
cubic foot of the items you mix increases, the mixer's capacity is increased accordingly.
To compensate for this added capacity we use thicker steel in the mixer's tank, plus
larger shafts, sprockets, chains, bearings, etc. Ingredients which generally require this
heavier construction include; premixes, chicken litter and other items that weigh between
35 and 50 pounds per cubic foot.
Super Duty
Our Super Duty Mixers are built
considerably heavier in order to accommodate ingredients which weigh 51 to 70 pounds per
cubic foot. Products in this category include; concentrates, pre-mixes, mineral mixes, and
mixes with 21 to 30% liquid molasses or fat.
