Davis Package Feed Milling Plants are built in four sizes and combine into a single unit, operated from one power source; grinding and mixing facilities designed to manufacture complete feeding rations containing: ground ear corn, hay and shelled grain with concentrates, short cut silage and molasses. This Feed System is equipped with our Granulator for those operations that require the ability to process hay and ear corn as well as all shelled grain. The system may be built together as illustrated, or the Mixer and Granulator may be operated separately, each with there own motor. When the two are linked together, a clutch is provided to shut the granulator off when not in use. Our Feed Granulator uses sharp knives which produce a chopping and slicing action providing a finished product containing far less objectionable dust and fines. The old-fashioned hammer mill, which depends on blunt faced hammers to achieve size reduction, creates far more dust and fines. Flat hammers produce an exploding action which results in an inferior finished product. Furthermore, the hammer mill requires considerably more power which makes it much less cost effective to operate. For those who prefer to roll their shelled grains, our Davis 10x10 or 10x20 Krimper-Kracker Roller Mill may be incorporated into the system. Our Roller Mill will process all shelled grains, high moisture or dry. The machine's Super-Tuff Rolls are of such significant hardness that we guarantee them 15 years against breakage. We use a genuine alloy chill cast roll which is far superior to ordinary gray iron roll used in most roller mills. An electric motor, diesel engine or tractor PTO may be used to power the Davis Package Feed Milling Plant. An electronic scale may be built into any of out package feed milling plants.
