Davis Super Duty Batch Mixers are Built Substantially Stronger to Accommodate Heavier Ingredients. Here's How We Do It: Super Duty Mixers are built for materials having double the density of our Standard Duty models. For example, a mixer having 100 cubic feet of mixing capacity would be able to hold 3,500 pounds of materials weighing 35# per cubic foot, but 7,000 pounds of ingredients comprised of material weighing 70# per cubic foot. To compensate for this, the mixer's entire tank is made with 3/16 plate steel and all of the power transmission equipment (bearings, sprockets, shafts, chains and belts) for the mixer two sizes larger, which is built to accommodate 8,000 pounds per batch, is used. By significantly upgrading the specifications of our Super Duty Mixers we can safely increase their capacity. It's really a matter of building the machine up to the job.
